I was thinking small because I didn't have the confidence. I had confidence to build seven, eight nine figure brands. I never had the confidence or even the clarity to build a 10 figure brand.
Confidence creates confidence. It's amazing. You walk into a room with confidence. Especially when you're making a sale or something, they become confident in you.
The fear of failure is worse than the failure in so many instances in the book.
It was the only thing that was forced is that I couldn't quit. But you can't quit. You have to stick it out.
It's having time management discipline, overcoming adversity, all these different things that employers are looking for because they bring tremendous value.
I believe that failure or what you perceive as failure to be is opportunity disguised as deep disappointment.
I failed time in time again, countless amount of times. But through each failure, I learned and I grew and I adapted and I evolved. And I found that, you know, nothing was going to stop me unless I gave up, unless I chose to throw in the towel.
Mindset is the key to open up that prison cell. So you can just walk out, sit down at the table, hang out with the guards and eat the food out of your own damn prison.
Confidence about past experience. Because you're drawing on what you did in the past, and though you can do it again. Courage is about future experience because you're doing something that you never did before.
But these are the scars of an entrepreneur. And I think you have to have, I don't believe it in failure. I like the concept that fail. F-A-I-L stands for a faithful attempt in learning.
When I reflect on that, it's discipline. And I am that person who will grind every day if I believe in something. Not for a long time, but I will form habits every day.
Our job as leaders, whether we're managers, directors, VPs or sea level, is to grow people, to grow their skills, to grow their confidence, to grow their connections. Very similar to being a parent.
