Austin Hope's family moved to Paso Robles in 1978 and planted vineyards when he was six or seven years old, eventually becoming one of the region's larger grape growers before launching Treana Winery in 1996 and taking over Liberty School. Today he runs Hope Family Wines, a roughly 60-person global company shipping about 430,000 cases a year into 16 countries, whose eponymous 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon was named the #7 wine in the world by Wine Enthusiast.
