The short answer

What the archive says

01Vet TEDx events by theme alignment: roughly 3,000 events a year, about 1,500 in English, and maybe 200 with a theme matching your topic, all run by unpaid volunteers who may be slow to reply. source →

02Treat a TEDx talk as a YouTube asset, not an event: "TEDx is the bouncer at the door," but the talk lives and compounds on a channel with 45 million subscribers. source →

03Choose your talk topic based on what your ideal client is Googling at 2 a.m. — be a painkiller, not a vitamin. source →
