Shawne Merriman grew up in Prince George's County, Maryland, left the University of Maryland early for a top-15 NFL draft slot and played eight seasons before retiring in 2013. He bought the Lights Out name and trademarks at 21 and now runs Lights Out apparel, the Lights Out Xtreme Fighting promotion on Fubo Sports, and a 207-agent life insurance agency.
