The short answer

What the archive says

01Apple's privacy push now extends to email, blocking open-rate tracking and letting users create multiple aliases, so email measurement and retargeting lists will keep shrinking. source →

02Treat Apple's privacy expansion as self-serving branding and ad-network strategy: it protects data while keeping it inside Apple's own walls where Apple can monetize it. source →

In their words

What was actually said

One of those words but they're making it so that you can actually set up even like multiple aliases to hide where your email comes from and they're making it much more difficult to track the behaviors of emails in some of the new releases. So thoughts on this. I think it's definitely obviously going to secure them as a first pick for iPhone for a bit longer in smartphone category but yeah it's definitely making retargeting a lot harder.
